Law firm Wiersholm is opening an office in Trondheim and sharpening its focus on industries such as aquaculture, technology and renewable energy.

“There are a lot of exciting developments taking place in the Trondheim region which will increase the demand for legal expertise in the area, making the decision to open a branch there the right move for us. Central Norway and particularly Trondheim have held a strong position within technology and innovation for years, and this region is also seeing significant growth in coming industries like aquaculture and renewable energy, which are also focus areas for us. Moreover, we have many clients in the Trondheim region, and we’ll now be in a position to work even more closely with them,” says Wiersholm’s Managing Partner Morten Goller.

Wiersholm has already secured a new Trondheim-based partner, who alongside partners Inge Ekker Bartnes and Svein-Helge Hanken will head the Trondheim venture. Mr Goller won’t reveal the name of the new partner until the start-up date is definite, but is clear that the process of setting up the new office is well underway:

“We’ll be open for business in Trondheim as soon as feasibly possible. We plan for steady growth, and expect to have a team of 10-15 lawyers working out of the new office relatively soon. We look forward to providing seamless service to our clients from both Oslo and Trondheim in the very near future,” says Mr Goller.
