Social Responsibility

By virtue of our profession and position, we have a special responsibility to conduct our business in a responsible and sustainable manner. In addition, we have an opportunity to influence the society in which we operate by sharing and applying our professional knowledge. We engage both at company level and as individuals.

Save the Children

Wiersholm has been a main partner of Save the Children since 2019, and is proud to have a meaningful collaboration with an organisation that works for one of the most important things for a sustainable future – children’s rights and education.

Save the Children’s main focus fits well with our business as a legal professional services company. The collaboration builds on shared values and goals, but also on our complementary skills.

Pro Bono

Wiersholm has a strong and proud pro bono tradition and contributes several FTEs of pro bono hours every year. We have mainly structured our work through established partners. This enables long-term partnerships that work well for both parties – something we believe is crucial for such partnerships to succeed. In addition, we also assist individual clients pro bono on special occasions.

Our partners include, among others: Save the Children, HumAk, NOAS, The Crown Prince and Crown Princess’ Fund and Mino.jur.

UN Global Compact

Wiersholm is a proud member of the UN Global Compact – the world’s largest corporate social responsibility initiative.

Sustainable business starts with the firm’s values and a principles-based approach to how the firm operates. This means that we are committed to working purposefully and systematically to strengthen ourselves in the areas of human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption.

Transparency Act

In accordance with the Transparency Act, which came into force on 1 July 2022, Wiersholm carries out due diligence assessments, which are presented in an annual report. The overall responsibility for the work with the Transparency Act and the due diligence assessments lies with the Managing Partner and the CFO, while the partners in management and the employees in compliance, HR and purchasing have important roles in the practical implementation.

Teaching

We are a professional services company. As leading business lawyers, our knowledge and experience are our most important resource and contribution to society. That is why it is important for us to use our expertise to create value for society – also outside our client engagements. We contribute to the development of tomorrow’s lawyers and managers through teaching, contributions to professional forums, and through conferences, seminars and in-house courses.
