Ignazio works with clients in the shipping sector. He has experience handling challenging matters within marine insurance law, maritime law, and transport law.
He regularly acts for ship owners and charterers with claims under H&M, P&I, LOH and FD&D policies and with direct action claims against P&I insurers in Norway. He also has experience with matters relating to salvage, arrest, collision, cargo damage and shipbuilding.
He has litigated a number of cases before the courts and in arbitration – including under the rules of the Nordic Maritime and Offshore Arbitration Association (NOMA). Additionally, he has experience in handling dispute cases from his time as a judicial assistant at the Oslo District Court.
Ignazio is used as a course and lecture instructor, among others by the Center for Legal Education and the University of Oslo.
He has been a research assistant at the Scandinavian Institute of Maritime Law at the University of Oslo, and published several articles and legal commentaries, including the commentary to the Norwegian Maritime Code (as co-author), published by Karnov Norway.
In 2024, Ignazio was ranked as one of five insurance law up-and-coming talents in Finansavisen’s annual lawyer survey.
