UN Global Compact
In 2018, Wiersholm became a member of the UN Global Compact, the world’s most comprehensive corporate responsibility initiative with more than 10,000 participants from 160 countries. The UN Global Compact is based on ten principles – and our adherence to the Global Compact means that we do our best to conduct our business in line with these principles.
Our commitments
- Through the UN Global Compact, we commit to working purposefully and systematically in the areas of human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption. This means that we will implement a number of measures to ensure that the Global Compact’s ten principles become part of our daily operations, culture and strategy.
- As a result of joining the UN Global Compact, compliance by our suppliers is an important requirement. In 2018, we implemented new sustainability requirements for our suppliers.
- Through our UN Global Compact membership, we undertake to report on the measures we implement. You can read about which measures that have been implemented and our plans for the future in our report on ESG and sustainability (Wiersholm Communication on Progress) below.
- As a member, we will promote the UN Global Compact and the ten principles through our communication channels. By promoting the UN Global Compact and corporate social responsibility, we hope to contribute to the UN Global Compact achieving its two main objectives of making the ten principles part of the business operations of companies all over the world and promoting activities and partnerships that contribute to meeting the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Annual Reporting
We report annually on what we do to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The report summarises what we are doing to reduce the company’s carbon footprint, an overview of actions taken to create an inspiring work environment where employees thrive, information on how we create an inclusive work environment, what standards we set for our suppliers and what we do pro bono to promote human rights.
