Wiersholm has assisted the lenders of Vår Energi AS in a USD 6 billion credit facility financing the acquisition of ExxonMobil's remaining Norwegian upstream assets.

Vår Energi AS, owned by Eni and HitecVision, completed on 10 December 2019 the acquisition of the remaining upstream assets of ExxonMobil on the Norwegian Continental Shelf for a cash consideration of approx. USD 4.5 billion, concluding one of the largest transactions ever completed on Norwegian continental shelf.

Wiersholm has advised a syndicate of 25 banks, including BNP Paribas as bookrunner and sole underwriter, in a USD 6 billion senior secured credit facility to Vår Energi AS financing inter alia the acquisition.
