UN Global Compact

In 2018, Wiersholm became a member of UN Global Compact, the world’s largest social responsibility initiative with more than 10 000 participants from 160 countries. UN Global Compact is based on 10 principles – and our membership in UN Global Compact means that we do our best to operate our business in accordance with these principles.

The Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact

Our obligations

  • Through UN Global Compact, we are committed to work determinedly and systematically in the areas of human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption. This means that we have initiated a number of measures to ensure that Global Compact’s ten principles become a part of our day-to-day work, our culture and strategy.
  • Compliance by our suppliers is an important requirement that follows from our membership in UN Global Compact. In 2018, we implemented new sustainability requirements for our suppliers.
  • Through our membership in UN Global Compact, we undertake to report on the measures we take to comply with UN Global Compact’s principles. In our ESG and sustainability report (Wiersholm Communication on Progress) below, you will find a description of the measures we have taken and our plans for the future.
  • As a member we will market UN Global Compact and the ten principles through our communication channels. By promoting Global Compact and social responsibility, we hope to be able to help Global Compact achieve its two main objectives: to make the ten principles part of corporate business strategy all over the world and to promote activities and partnerships that contribute to achieving the UN’s goal of sustainable development.
