Human Rights Law
Protection of human rights is a key issue of our time and is increasingly being put higher on the agenda of international bodies, the EU, Norwegian legislators, investors and other stakeholders in industry and commerce. The rules are comprehensive, with particular requirements of due diligence and risk mitigation measures both in a business and in the supply and value chain, as exemplified by the Norwegian Transparency Act. Compliance with such rules may require implementation of compliance procedures that meet human rights requirements.
Our human rights team assists both public and private operators in their human rights efforts and has extensive experience, gained both abroad and in Norway. We put together interdisciplinary teams tailored to the individual business' needs.
We also have considerable experience with legal assessments and investigations related to human rights under among others the European Convention on Human Rights, UN Conventions, and the Norwegian Constitution, such as freedom of expression, freedom of religion, protection of private life, protection of private property etc.
